He was a man who loved bright colors and curvy shapes. He believed that straight lines were boring and lacked feeling. He even called them "godless and immoral." Instead, he used organic forms that looked like things found in nature.

His work made people stop and wonder. He wanted art to be an experience for everyone who saw it. This idea was part of his theory called "transautomatism."

His buildings were very special and different from normal houses.

Many of his designs had uneven floors. He said an uneven floor is like a melody for your feet. He also liked to use "tree tenants." These are real trees that grow right out of the windows of a building. His roofs were often covered in earth and green grass. He even designed a "Bottle House" in New Zealand. He wanted buildings to work with nature, not against it.

His life began in Austria during a very difficult time.

His name, Friedensreich Hundertwasser, has a beautiful meaning. In English, it translates to "Peace-Realm Hundred-Water." He also used the names Regentag and Dunkelbunt. These mean "Rainy day" and "Darkly multi-coloured."

Throughout his life, he created many different kinds of art.
