The February Revolution was a huge turning point in Russian history. It happened in 1917 and changed how the country was ruled.

Many people call it the March Revolution today. This is because Russia used a different calendar back then. The revolution was not a single planned event. Instead, it was a series of protests that grew very quickly. It began because many people were unhappy with their lives. This movement eventually ended the long rule of the Russian kings.

At the center of this story was Tsar Nicholas II. He was the leader of the Romanov family.

For a long time, his family had ruled Russia. But the Tsar faced many hard choices during the war. He decided to lead the army himself in 1915. This was a hard job that he was not ready for. He also left his wife, Tsarina Alexandra, in charge.
