Entrapment

society Maturity 13-18 politics Next article →

This article covers sensitive topics: politics. Parents can manage visibility in Parental Controls.

Sometimes, the law uses tricks. This is called entrapment. It happens when police trick someone into a crime. The person might not do the crime on their own. They only do it because of the trick.

In some lands, this is a way to catch bad people. But it can be unfair. If the police push too hard, a judge may help. The judge can say the person is not guilty.

In Canada, a couple was once caught in a trap. They were found guilty at first. Later, the court said they were entrapped. This changed their case. It showed that the police went too far. Rules help keep things fair for all.
