Recent discoveries continue to make Dorado a place of intense study. In early 2020, astronomers discovered the exoplanet TOI-700 d. This planet orbits the star TOI-700 within the constellation. It is the first potentially Earth-like exoplanet found by the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite. Other interesting objects include HE 0437-5439, a hypervelocity star. This star is actually escaping from the Milky Way and Magellanic Cloud system. Even the ancient traditions of Chinese astronomy recognize these stars. They are known as the White Patches Attached and the Goldfish.
