Today, the oblast remains a densely populated and active area. About 80% of the population lives in major administrative centers. These centers include Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Kamianske, Nikopol, and Pavlohrad.

The region is divided into seven raions, which are administrative districts. It contains 20 cities and 1,438 villages. The local administration is managed by the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Rada. Despite facing challenges during the Russian invasion, the oblast remains a key part of Ukraine. It continues to play a massive role in the nation's industry and identity.
