Many lands in Asia became free. Long ago, far away lands ruled them.

Some lands were ruled by people from Europe. These leaders came from places like England and France. They stayed in Asia for a long time.

Later, many people wanted to rule their own lands. They worked hard to change things. This was a big move for the region.

One place called Burma became free in 1948. Cambodia also became free in 1953.

These changes helped create new nations. Now, these places can make their own choices.
