Milton Friedman wrote a famous book called Capitalism and Freedom. It first came out in 1962. In the book, he shares his big ideas about money. He believed that economic freedom helps people stay politically free. This means being able to trade and work helps people have more say in their lives.

Friedman thought the government should have a small role. He said the government should keep order and protect property. He also had ideas for many different areas. For schools, he suggested using vouchers. A voucher is a way for students to choose their own school. He also thought about how taxes should work. He suggested a flat tax where everyone pays the same rate.

Many people have read this book. It has been translated into eighteen languages. Some of his ideas are used in countries today. For example, Chile and Sweden use school voucher systems. His work helped make him a very well-known name. His book is even listed as one of the best non-fiction books of the twentieth century.
