There are special rules in this game. Teams get three tries to move the ball. These tries are called downs. Players also use goalposts to score. These posts stand at the front of the end zone.

Many people in Canada love this sport. It started a long time ago from a game called rugby. Today, people play at many levels. Some play in high school or college. The best professional players play in the Canadian Football League, or CFL. They play for a big trophy called the Grey Cup. This is one of the biggest sporting events in Canada.
