A belfry is a place for bells.

It is often part of a tall tower. The walls have holes in them. These holes let the loud sound escape. Some holes have slats to keep rain out. This keeps the bells safe and dry. A room below may hold the ringers. These people ring the bells. Some towers also help watch for fires. It is a very special building.
