Long ago in China, two groups fought for power. One group was the Shang. The other group was the Zhou. This fight happened at a place called Muye.

King Wu led the Zhou people. He wanted to stop the Shang rule. The Shang leader was Di Xin. Di Xin had a very large army. He had about 170,000 soldiers. The Zhou army was much smaller. They only had 45,000 men.

But the Shang army had a problem. Many of their soldiers were slaves. These soldiers did not want to fight for the Shang. During the battle, many of them ran away. Some even joined the Zhou side. This helped the Zhou win the fight.

After the battle, the Zhou became the new rulers. This was the start of the Zhou dynasty. The new leaders opened grain stores. They used the food to feed hungry people.

Scientists study the stars to find the date of this fight. They think it happened around 1046 BC. This was a very big change for China.
