A man named Alfred Rosenberg lived long ago.

Alfred Rosenberg was a leader in the Nazi Party.

Alfred Rosenberg was a major thinker for the Nazi Party in Germany.
Rosenberg worked in many high positions within the Nazi government. He led the Office of Foreign Affairs for the whole Nazi era. This lasted from 1933 until 1945. He also ran an official group that watched over German culture. This group was used for surveillance, or watching people closely. Between 1934 and 1945, he led this body to control cultural policy. He even served as an editor for the Nazi Party newspaper.
His life began in Reval, which is now called Tallinn, Estonia. He was born there on January 12, 1893. His father was a merchant named Woldemar Wilhelm Rosenberg. His mother, Elfriede, died only two months after he was born.
Rosenberg wrote a very important book in 1930 called "The Myth of the Twentieth Century." This book explained his ideas about racial theory. It sold more than one million copies by 1945. During World War II, he held a very large job. He was the head of the Reich Ministry for the Occupied Eastern Territories. He held this post from 1941 to 1945. In this role, he helped direct the mass murder of the Slavs.
After the war ended, Rosenberg had to answer for his actions. He was part of the Nuremberg trials in 1946. The court found him guilty of several serious crimes. These included crimes against peace and crimes against humanity. It also included war crimes and planning aggressive wars.
Alfred Rosenberg was a primary ideologue for the Nazi Party in Germany.
Rosenberg held several powerful positions within the Nazi government. From 1933 to 1945, he led the NSDAP Office of Foreign Affairs. He also directed an official body for cultural policy and surveillance from 1934 to 1945. Surveillance means closely watching people and their activities. Additionally, he served as an editor for the Nazi Party newspaper.
Rosenberg's early life began in Reval, which is now Tallinn, Estonia. He was born on January 12, 1893, in the Russian Empire. His father, Woldemar Wilhelm Rosenberg, was a wealthy merchant. His mother, Elfriede, passed away only two months after his birth.
In 1923, Adolf Hitler appointed Rosenberg as the leader of the Nazi movement. This happened after the failed Beer Hall Putsch. Hitler later said he chose Rosenberg because he was strategic. Hitler believed Rosenberg was too weak to become a popular rival.
One of Rosenberg's most significant contributions was his book, *The Myth of the Twentieth Century*. He published this work on racial theory in 1930. The book sold more than one million copies by 1945. It addressed the "Jewish question" and condemned Islam as being against European races. While many Nazis officially respected the book, its actual influence was debated. Some leaders, like Albert Speer, claimed Hitler found the writing difficult to understand. However, other historians noted that Hitler saw it as a vital party text.
Rosenberg's ideas also shaped political perceptions in Germany. He helped convince Hitler that communism was a major threat. He promoted the idea of "Jewish-Bolshevism" to target specific groups. He also introduced Hitler to *The Protocols of the Elders of Zion*. This was a document used to support theories about Jewish conspiracies. Rosenberg was also a member of the Reichstag, the German parliament, starting in 1930. He represented the Hesse-Darmstadt constituency from 1932 until the end of the regime.
After World War II, Rosenberg faced legal consequences for his actions. He was a defendant at the Nuremberg trials in 1946. The international court convicted him of several major crimes. These included crimes against peace and planning wars of aggression. He was also found guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity. The court sentenced him to death by hanging. He was executed on October 16, 1946.
