Ahn Chang Ho

Ahn Chang Ho was a great leader.

His activism led to many struggles with the Japanese government. Ahn was a key member of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea. He was also involved in the Shinminhoe organization. Because of his work, he was arrested five times. He was arrested in 1909 and again in 1932 in Shanghai. In 1932, he was extradited to Korea after a bombing incident. He was sentenced to five years in Daejeon prison. He died on March 10, 1938, after being very ill.

A post office in Los Angeles is named the Dosan Ahn Chang Ho Station. The 10 and 110 freeway interchange in Los Angeles is named after him. In South Korea, a submarine is named the Dosan Ahn Changho-class. Even the third pattern in Taekwondo is called Dosan. His family also left a mark on history.
