He played 105 games in these championships, totaling 156 points. He also competed in three Winter Olympics: 1972, 1976, and 1980. He earned two gold medals and one silver medal at the Olympics. The 1972 Summit Series was a major moment for global hockey. It was one of the first times top Soviet and Canadian players faced each other. In the first game, the Soviet Union won 7–3.
