There are many specific facts about how these plants grow. Most nightshades belong to a group called Solanoideae. This group makes up nearly 80% of the family. Most of them belong to the genus Solanum. The plants have different types of fruit. Some grow as berries, like a tomato. Others grow as capsules. Some even grow as drupes.
