They finally entered the mainstream film industry with the musical hit "Mission Kashmir."
Their career reached a turning point in 2001 with the film "Dil Chahta Hai." This was the directorial debut of Farhan Akhtar. The trio was originally not the first choice for the music. However, they composed a title track that Farhan Akhtar liked very much. This success led to a long-term partnership with Excel Entertainments. It also earned them their first nomination for a Filmfare Award for Best Music Director. This era established them as major figures in Bollywood.
Following this success, the trio achieved massive commercial milestones. In 2003, they composed the soundtrack for "Kal Ho Naa Ho." This became the highest-selling Indian music album of that year. Their work on "Bunty Aur Babli" in 2005 also won them a second Filmfare Award. They are known for creating songs that become massive hits, such as "Kajra Re." 
The year 2007 was a particularly significant period for the group. They released music for several films, including "Salaam-e-Ishq" and "Jhoom Barabar Jhoom."
