To find the density, you divide the population by the land area. You can include seas or oceans in your math if you want. Sometimes people only look at the land. If you use all of Earth's land and water, the density is low. The total world population is about 8,000,000,000 people. The Earth's total area is about 510,000,000 square kilometres. This makes the worldwide human density about 15.7 people per square kilometre. If you only count land, the number goes up to about 17.2.
