For example, the Cisticolidae family was identified as a distinct tropical group. Other species were moved into the Acrocephalidae, Cettiidae, Phylloscopidae, and Megaluridae families. 
Different families of warblers have adapted to very different environments. The Acrocephalidae, or marsh and tree warblers, are often found in reed beds, tall grass, or open woodlands. They are often larger than other warblers and may have olivaceous brown feathers. The Cettiidae family includes bush warblers that typically inhabit shrublands and undergrowth. These birds are often smaller and have shorter tails than the Megaluridae.
Some warbler groups have very specific lifestyles and appearances. The Megaluridae, or grass warblers, are often mid-sized with long tails. 
Understanding the Old World warblers helps scientists study the broader superfamily Sylvioidea. This superfamily includes many different lineages of songbirds. By studying the DNA of these birds, researchers can trace how different species evolved and branched off from one another. This work shows how much our understanding of nature changes when we move from looking at physical shapes to looking at genetic codes. It turns a confusing group of similar-looking birds into a clear map of biological history.
