A man named Copernicus lived long ago. 

Nicolaus Copernicus was a man who studied many things. 


Copernicus went to the University of Kraków. He studied math and the stars. He also studied the ideas of Aristotle. Aristotle was an ancient thinker. Copernicus looked for mistakes in old ideas. He found problems in how people saw the sky.
Most people thought Earth was the center of everything. Copernicus had a new idea. He made a model of the universe. He said the Sun is at the center.

Beyond astronomy, Copernicus made significant contributions to the field of economics. In 1517, he derived a quantity theory of money. This theory explores how the amount of money in an economy affects its value. In 1519, he also formulated an economic principle that is now known as Gresham's law. His ability to apply mathematical logic to money shows how diverse his intellect was. He served as a Warmian Cathedral chapter canon starting in 1497. This role involved many administrative and religious duties within the region of Warmia.
Copernicus lived much of his life in the province of Royal Prussia. This region was part of the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland. His work was published in his famous book, *On the Revolutions of the Celestial Spheres*. He completed this work just before his death on May 24, 1543. 

Today, the legacy of Copernicus is visible in how we study space and math. His transition from the geocentric model to the heliocentric model changed the course of human history. He proved that observing the world requires questioning long-held beliefs. His life connects astronomy to mathematics, law, and even economics. Even his personal life was complex, including a relationship with a housekeeper named Anna Schilling. Despite the social pressures of his time, his focus remained on the mechanics of the universe.
