The poet Gherardo Borgogni exchanged verses with her for nearly twenty years. These verses later became lyrics for musical tributes by composers like Leone Leoni. Other musicians, such as the English composer Peter Philips, also created works in her honour. Her reputation was so great that she was often addressed as the "star" of her company. Even Marie de' Medici, the Queen of France, referred to her in letters.
Isabella Andreini died in early 1604 near Lyon while traveling back to Italy.
