Eventually, the mud was removed to reveal the magnificent jade beneath. 
The climate in the region is tropical with wet and dry seasons. This is known as a Köppen Aw climate. Winters are generally warm and dry. Temperatures increase until April, which is the hottest month. The monsoon season begins in late April and lasts through October. During this time, heavy rain brings cooler daytime temperatures. However, the nights usually remain warm. Snow is extremely rare here; it was only recorded once in 1955.
Travelers can reach Chiang Rai through several different methods. You can fly from Bangkok to Chiang Rai International Airport. The flight takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
